Localizing to the cytoplasmic side of the Golgi apparatus, ZNF289 contains one ARF-GAP domain and is found associated with COP-I-coated vesicles. Function: GTPase-activating protein (GAP) for ADP ribosylation factor 1 (ARF1). Implicated in coatomer-mediated protein transport between the Golgi complex and the endoplasmic reticulum. Hydrolysis of ARF1-bound GTP may lead to dissociation of coatomer from Golgi-derived membranes to allow fusion with target membranes. Subunit: Interacts with the coatomer complex. Interacts with the C-terminal appendage domain锌指蛋白289抗体 of COPG1. Subcellular Location: Cytoplasm. Golgi apparatus membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side.
